Here is a unique Gibson Doves in Flight acoustic guitar. This was a "Made to Measure" guitar as Gibson calls their custom shop instruments. This Dove was ordered from a store named Music Villa, located down the street from the Gibson factory in Bozeman, Montana. The beautiful quilted maple back and sides were hand picked by their staff with the help of Gibson's factory product specialist, Don Ruffatto. Other unique features include an ebony fingerboard and bridge, Adirondack spruce top, Adirondack spruce bracing attached to the top with animal hide glue, a trans blue nitrocellulose lacquer finish on the back, sides, and flamed maple neck.
There are 28 Doves in flight that are hand engraved and inlaid into the bridge, fingerboard, pick guard, and headstock in various sizes. The inlays are of mother-of-pearl. The top is bordered by a band of Paua shell inlay, as is the rosette. The pick guard is also hand engraved and hand painted. The Grover machines have keystone tuning knobs that are gold plated and hand engraved.
All these beautiful features aside, this guitar boasts a powerful bass with tremendous clarity, cutting mid-range, and a wonderful high end. The scale length is 25.5". The nut width is 1.575". The fingerboard had 20 frets and a 12" radius. The guitar has a great neck angle, plenty of saddle height for you to adjust the action to your taste, and plays easily. The guitar is in new condition like it left the factory yesterday. Included is the original Gibson hardcase, and a certificate of authenticity.
