The nicest Gibson J-160E we have had in a number of years. This acoustic-electric guitar has a sloped shoulder dreadnought body with a laminated spruce top, mahogany back and sides, and a rosewood fingerboard on a mahogany neck. A single-coil P90 pickup is installed at the end of the fingerboard and a volume and tone control are mounted on the top. The adjustable rosewood bridge, pickguard, and electronics are all original parts. The original tuning machines were replaced with chrome plated Grover rotomatics. The neck is straight, the frets show minimal wear, and the action is low. The truss rod is in great working condition.
The finish on this guitar is in beautiful condition. There is the typical lacquer checking on all surfaces, very few minor dings to the top and back, and some more noticeable finish wear on the sides above and below the input jack. A beautiful Gibson that looks great for being 55 years old. A new Gibson hard case is included.
