A powerful sounding Martin D-18 made in 1948. This one plays great, has lots of volume and sustain, and a nice balance between the open deep bass and clear, bright treble response.
The guitar has its original Kluson octagonal plate tuners, original pickguard (re-glued to top) original nut, and Original Brazilian Rosewood fingerboard and bridge. The bridge was reglued in our shop along with a clean neck reset. The new ivory saddle has plenty of room for adjustment, should you want to lower the action. I believe the guitar was refretted before it was traded in to me. The refret was done professionally, and it is difficult to tel that it was even done. The fret height is excellent.
There are two well repaired pickguard cracks on either side of the pickguard, and a 2 inch crack above the pickguard that is well repaired. The back and sides have no cracks. The finish is original and shows the usual amount of pick wear, nicks and scratches accumulated from over 69 years of being played. Some of the deeper scratches on the upper bass bout have had some lacquer sealer added to protect the wood that was exposed from the aggressive flat picker whom once owned this well played guitar.
The price includes an early 1970's hard shell case.
